How to Make Your Mold for Custom Grillz

Welcome to Grillz Spot! To create your perfect custom grillz, we need a precise mold of your teeth. Follow these step-by-step instructions to make your mold at home.

What’s Included in Your Mold Kit:

  • 2 different colored putties (Base and Catalyst)
  • 1 plastic tray
  • 1 zip-lock bag
  • Instruction sheet

If you already have a dental mold, feel free to send that to us instead of creating a new one.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Preparation

  1. Wash your hands thoroughly and dry them.
  2. Lay out all the materials from the mold kit.

Step 2: Mixing the Putty

  1. Take one piece of each colored putty (Base and Catalyst) and mix them together for 15-20 seconds until the color is uniform.
  2. Roll the putty into a ball, then shape it into a log.

Step 3: Filling the Tray

  1. Place the log-shaped putty into the tray, spreading it towards the front where your teeth will go.
  2. Make sure the putty is evenly distributed to cover all teeth when you take the impression.

Step 4: Taking the Impression

  1. Open your mouth wide and pull your lips away from your teeth.
  2. Insert the tray into your mouth and press it straight up (for top grillz) or down (for bottom grillz) until your teeth are fully embedded in the putty.
  3. Ensure the putty covers your gum line.
  4. Hold the tray steady for 3-4 minutes without moving or speaking.

Step 5: Removing the Tray

  1. Gently wiggle the tray, pulling it down (for top mold) or up (for bottom mold) to remove.
  2. Inspect the impression to ensure it captures all teeth and the gum line clearly. If the impression isn’t good, use the extra putty to try again. You’re welcome to text us a picture of your mold at 713-998-0498 to confirm it’s accurate.

Step 6: Preparing for Shipment

  1. Place the mold into the provided zip-lock bag.
  2. Include your order form in the package when returning your mold.

Step 7: Shipping the Mold

  1. Ship the mold back to us via USPS, FedEx, UPS, or any trusted shipping service.
  2. Clearly write our address and your return address on the shipping box.
